Get the most out of the auction.

We've prepared tips and tricks to help you navigate and make the most out of your bidding experience. Whether you're new or experienced, these tips will increase your chances of getting the most out of the auction.

Know your Maximum Bid Before you Start

Before you start bidding, it's important that you know when the price of the lot has exceeded what you're willing to pay. Be sure to really look at the image and description and decide its value to you before you start bidding. Always stay true to your maximum bid!

Find a niche

It can be overwhelming with the amount of different products in our auctions, so why not find a niche?

It's good to focus on a few products so you can get to know the auction experience and become a specialist in a category.

Buy in bulk

If you can, buy in bulk such as wholesale pallets or collective lots. This usually works out a lot cheaper than buying individual items, helping you make a good profit.

Keep additional costs in mind

If you’ve not had much experience with auctions it would be easy to think that the highest bid is the price paid for the item. What you need to bare in mind is that there will be additional fees applied to it. These additional costs are shown to you before your bid is confirmed.

Try before you buy

All items are sold as seen. If at all possible it is a good idea to view the product and check for yourself before the auction as auction staff will not do so. Simon Charles allows customers to book slots to view specific lots at one of our auction centers.

At Simon Charles Auctioneers, we sell everything from toasters to tiles. No matter your heart's desires we're sure that we can find something to your liking, and if not simply wait a few days and it might find its way here. But don't take our word for it, have a browse through our auctions and see what you can find!
