Polar goggles worn by The explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and his team on their expedition in 1979 circling the world "Pole to Pole" that took 3 years to complete and entered Fiennes into the record books. Sir Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, 3rd Baronet, OBE, commonly known as Ranulph "Ran" Fiennes, is a British explorer and holder of several endurance records. He is also a prolific writer and poet He was the first person to visit both the North and South Poles by surface means and the first to completely cross Antarctica on foot. In May 2009, at the age of 65, he climbed to the summit of Mount Everest. 1986 and 1994 awarded Polar Medal. He remains the only person to have received a double clasp for both the Arctic and Antarctica. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS AUCTION GO TO THE CHARITY 'WARRINGTON BSL CHOIR' FOR DEAF AWARENESS
