The Weekly Auction
The Classic or Live Auction was first started over 60 years ago, and so you can imagine that with all that practice, we have the classic auction down to perfection. Held every Thursday, potential bidders can view lots on the Wednesday from 3.30pm to 7.00pm. Bidding commences on Thursday at 10.00am. Generally the auction lasts all day. There are commonly over 1000 lots in the live auction and its rare for any to be left unsold. Lots are sold as seen and so there are some amazing bargains to be had. Brands sold through auction include:

Bidding at auction is exciting and involving. We recommend that the bidder should inspect the goods prior to the event itself as there may be little or no time on the day, and the venue becomes reasonably full, precluding in some instances a clear view of all the lots. The lots are sold as seen. Simon Charles would also recommend that bidders determine clearly how much they are willing to pay for an item prior to the bidding commencing. As the classic auction is live, the vast majority of bids are from the auction room floor. However, Simon Charles accepts sealed bids via the telephone and the Internet prior to the event. As with any business transaction, the bidder should also be aware of Simon Charles’ standard terms as these will be adhered to.
